Like many philosophers I admire, such as Derek Parfit and Joseph Raz, I enjoy taking photos in my spare time. Photography, like philosophy, involves organizing, representing and distinguishing different parts of the world. I took all of the photos in the headers above, which are of university towns and campuses I've been affiliated with.
I also take portraits of philosophers doing philosophy, and you can see some of these photos at the Fordham Ethics & Epistemology workshop web pages (e.g. 2013-2014) and the Oxford Moral Philosophy Seminar web page. My photos have been published in magazines, annual reports and one of the early 'Women of Philosophy' American Philosophical Association posters.
In the summer of 201o, I participated in a summer academy on the Ethics of Health Inequality run by Harvard University, the University of Geneva and the World Health Organization at the Brocher Foundation. After this event, a number of participants went hiking in the French Alps. Below is a selection of my photos from that hike.
